August 4 in San Antonio history...

1932
A group of 150 business men this morning went on record as favoring the Roosevelt Avenue route for the proposed Highway 66.

1942
County Commissioners Court has decided to return the 70 idle voting machines which have never been purchased, each at a savings of $1040.

1990
Eleven-year-old Heidi Seeman disappears, prompting a massive search and a city-wide outpouring of support.  Her body is found on August 25.  Her murder remains unsolved to this day.
