August 15 in San Antonio history...

1905
An ordinance was adopted by the city council wherein the city disclaimed any right, title or interest in the Alamo property.  The mayor was authorized to execute a quit claim deed to Miss Clara Driscoll.

1918
A single fingerprint is the sole evidence against a San Antonio man ordered to stand trial in district court for burglary.  It will be the first case of its kind in Bexar County and the third in the state.  Although other evidence is lacking, police claim the print method is infallable.

1969
Jethro Tull and Led Zeppelin play a concert at Hemisfair Arena.  It is the first appearance in San Antonio for both bands.  Tickets sell for $3, $4 and $5.
