July 8 in San Antonio history...

1893
San Antonio tailors will make the new uniforms for the San Antonio baseball club.  They will be gray wool with black trimmings.

1902
The Congregation of Temple Beth-El is issued a permit to erect a synagogue on Travis St. to cost $35,000.

1903
The San Antonio Typographical Union filed a petition with the city clerk for permission to hang a banner across the top of the Commerce Street bridge, announcing the July 19 picnic.
