July 5 in San Antonio history...

1923
Mayor John W. Tobin returned to the San Antonio Amusement Co. several passes saying he did not believe any public official or city employee was entitled to free admittance to theaters.

1933
Housewives were the winners in a San Antonio milk price war.  Prices dropped to 3 cents a pint and 5 cents a quart at stores, and 4 cents a pint and 6 cents a quart delivered.

1943
Only one serious injury was reported as San Antonio observed one of its quietest Fourth of July celebrations in many years.
