June 20 in San Antonio history...

1909
While in the act of giving a lady his seat on the Hot Wells street car last night, C.B. Christians fell from the car and suffered severe bruises.  He was trolley riding with his wife when the accident occurred.

1930
Randolph Field is dedicated.

1939
Ray Ashworth, 35, Evanston, IL., one of the nation's outstanding safety experts, today was named chief of the San Antonio Police Department.  He succeeds W.A. Harvey, an acting chief since June 1.

1975
The headline of the San Antonio Express newspaper read "60 cent gas looms in San Antonio."
($0.60 in 1975 works out to $2.40 per gallon today after inflation.  It would still be a bargain.)
