June 15 in San Antonio history...

1928
Plunging into space simultaneously from different planes, seven Brooks Field soldiers today floated gracefully to the ground in one of the most unusual parachute demonstrations ever attempted at a government field.


1948
Drastic water rationing, including the closing of two post pools was ordered today at Fort Sam Houston.  The order also saw new deep well pumps must be installed because a lowered water level.

1958
Like a hot potato, the controversial fluoridation issue has been tossed into the city's lap again.  It has been eight years since a local group failed in its attempt to add fluoride to the water.  Jim Pearce, chairman of the Jaycee Public Health and Education Committee, said surveys show cavities in children are reduced by 65 percent in areas which use the fluoridated water.
