April 21 in San Antonio history...

1889
San Jacinto Day was not being celebrated in San Antonio.

1905
The San Antonio Light accused the Dallas News of faking census figures to rob San Antonio of its claim as the largest city in the state.  The News listed Dallas, Houston, Ft. Worth, Waco and Corsicana as largest without mentioning San Antonio.  San Antonio claims 50,000 population and charged Dallas had juggled figures to boost its total to 55,000.

1929
Overtures of peace will be made by the city adminstration before San Antonio makes any attempt to absorb Alamo Heights in the general annexation program, it was announced by Mayor C.M. Chambers.
