April 20 in San Antonio history...

1886
The new fire bells have arrived.  Would this not be a fitting occasion for the ladies of the city to organize a festival of some kind for the benefit of the "fire laddies?"

1926
Guerilla warfare between Sheriff Jim Stevens and a band of auto strippers reached a climax last night when avenging thieves invaded the basement of the courthouse and drove off a car belonging to an investigator of the district attorney's office.

1946
Three P-80 "Shooting Stars" the first jet planes to visit Kelly Field, landed at the local base yesterday.
