April 2 in San Antonio history...

The high school girls of this city were winners over the Uvalde High School girls, 11-7, in a basketball game played here yesterday afternoon.

1970
The controversial leader of the United Farm Workers Organizing Committee, Cesar Chavez, will participate in the episcopal consecration of Patrick Fernandez Flores, newly named bishop of the Archdiocese of San Antonio, on May 5 at San Fernando Cathedral.

1977
Computers are used for the first time to tabulate the results of the city election.
