April 18 in San Antonio history...

Is it not time baseball was being played in this city? Where are the pitchers for celebrated league games who always come forward about this time of the year?

Under the magic hand of Mayor John W. Tobin, San Antonio's $1,000,000 Auditorium, dream of half a dozen city fathers, has become a reality.  In the final days of construction, the mayor spent most of his time at the site.

Underground parking came a step nearer reality today, when the city council instructed Mayor Gus Mauermann to advertise for bids at four business district location.  The facilities are in the vicinity of or under Alamo Plaza, Travis Park, Main Plaza and La Villita.
