April 15 in San Antonio history...

1950
Hopalong Cassidy, the Western hero children scream for, was reviewed and approved by San Antonio youths.  Mayor White proclaimed Saturday as "Hopalong Cassidy Day."

1970
Various San Antonio church groups will give special prayers for the safety of America's three astronauts who are now earthward bound in their crippled Apollo 13 spacecraft.

1976
The Northwest Six Theatres open at IH 10 and 410, showing "Play It Again, Sam", "The Hiding Place", "Crime & Passion", "Echoes of a Summer", "Bugs Bunny Superstar" and "The Duchess & the Dirtwater Fox."  The multiplex would later expand to ten and fourteen screens.
