January 11 in San Antonio history...

1905
The San Antonio Drug Company buys the mammoth A.B. Frank Co. building on Commerce Street.

1910
The Western Star gambling house was razed today. The two story frame structure, founded 40 to 45 years ago as The Old Gray Mule, was one of the largest gambling houses in the city.

1911
Bexar County's jail is to be bug-proof. In the plans, bids for which were opened Monday by the county commissioners, special attention was paid to rat-proofing and bug-proofing the whole jail. The contractor will have to see to it.
