December 18 in San Antonio history...

1931
Organization of Texas women to fight prohibition laws has been opened in San Antonio by the Crusaders, a national anti-prohibition organization.

1941
San Antonio experienced its first blackout in history and scored 100 percent in obedience to wartime law during the time.

1981
Mayor Henry Cisneros presides at dedication ceremonies for the Paseo del Alamo pedestrian walkway linking the Alamo and the San Antonio River. The Hyatt Regency Hotel also holds an invitation-only grand opening party.
