The San Antonio Express becomes a daily newspaper.

1930
Forced to leap from his falling plane when the wings collapsed, Cadet John McCullough Hodgson, pursuit section of Kelly Field, joined the ranks of the Caterpillar Club after making a 2,000 foot parachute jump 19 miles out on Culebra.

1970
Two hundred educators, meeting at Memorial High School for a conference, reached the consensus that the most pressing problem facing Mexican-Americans in the Southwest was the excessive high school dropout rate. The conference was sponsored by the National Education Task Force of La Raza.
