October 28 in San Antonio history...

1909
The new power plant of the San Antonio Gas and Electric Co. being constructed near the San Antonio River banks is nearing completion. It is expected to be in operation within six weeks.

1925
Mayor Tobin was informed of the proposed building of the $1 million hotel at the corner of St. Mary's and Villita Streets.

1955
Police were questioning an ice cream vendor suspected of arson in the $75,000 Travis Park Methodist Church fire.
