October 22 in San Antonio history...

1896
A new electric arc light machine with a capacity of 125 arc lights was ordered for the San Antonio Gas & Electric Company.

1929
Two sites are under consideration for the new $1 million north side high school - a 30 acre tract on Donaldson, known as Spanish Acres, and a 23 acre tract on Hildebrand.
[The tract on Donaldson would be selected and Jefferson High School opened in 1932.]

1949
An all-night thunderstorm, deluging the city with four to five inches of rain, crippled utilities and caused a number of San Antonians to become marooned by high water.
