October 21 in San Antonio history...

1899
Since the street car men set the ball rolling, strikes have become quite fashionable in San Antonio. Track laborers have gone on strike for $1.25 a day, a raise of ten cents for ten hours of work.

1925
The expenditure of millions of dollars for the development of army camps in San Antonio was considered assured.

1955
A large chow dog sought since Wednesday when it attacked its owner was killed by police today, but not before it was wounded by gunfire three times and run over by a squad car.
