1909
No less than 50,000 people packed Alamo Plaza today on the occasion of President Taft's first public speech in this city. Other thousands lined the streets to get a glimpse of the distinguished visitor.

1929
Construction of the first buildings for the new "West Point of the Air" at Randolph Field will begin within the next 10 days.

1939
Motion pictures of the Villita Street Spanish Village project had been made today for incorporation in a federal documentary film depicting work of the NYA.
