October 15 in San Antonio history...

In the great Attwater exhibit at the San Antonio fair will be shown a complete collection of the native fur-bearing animals of Southwest Texas.

A policy of watchful waiting is being followed by the Bexar County Fair Price Committee pending enactment by Congress of legislation designed to make profiteering a penalty under law. At present, the committee can only advise but cannot compel merchants to maintain fair prices.

Contractor Joe Joeris of San Antonio was the low bidder on the contract for Highlands High School with a bid of $2,159,600.  The school will be built to hold 2,400 students and is scheduled to be ready by the fall of 1958.

The Alzafar Shrine - Polack Brothers Circus is back in town and more than 4,200 persons thronged to the Coliseum to see the opening performance of the 16th annual show.
