1909
There is considerable protest being voiced against the ruling of the committee in charge that formal dress must be worn at functions slated here Oct. 17-18, for President Taft when he visits San Antonio.

1929
Preliminary surveys for construction of a new airport to be known as Grosvenor Field have been started by the Southern Air Transport Co. The new field is situated on a tract just east of Mayfield Blvd.

1939
San Antonio Public schools, colleges and universities will observe Thanksgiving Day Nov. 30, one week later than the day proclaimed by President Roosevelt, a survey today revealed.
