June 2 in San Antonio history...

1887
Some persons are in favor of adopting the old Spanish custom of taking an afternoon siesta and are working for its adoption. This would practically mean the suspension of business from 1 to 5 p.m. and lead to more night work.

1902
New milk license tags for the coming year will be of an oval shape instead of square and are dark red with gold letters.

1934
Officials announced completion of a federally-financed restoration job on San Antonio's San Jose mission.
